Concord & Sage Law Firm (“C&S”,"we," "us," or "our") was established by a group of attorneys licensed to practice both in China and the United States (jurisdictions such as California, New York and Illinois).The scope of our services covers areas such as commercial and corporate law, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment, immigration law, intellectual property, data protection, matrimonial and family affairs, criminal matters, and civil and commercial dispute resolution.

Concord & Sage Law Firm is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and website visitors. This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how, we processes Personal Information when we provide legal services to clients, we manage our business and other relationships, you visit our offices or you use our websites, mobile applications, newsletters or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the “Services”). We are committed to ensuring the privacy and integrity of the Personal Information you share with us or we otherwise collect as we provide these Services.

l Signing up for services on our website or otherwise contacting us including through email: When you sign up for newsletters, webinars or events, or when you contact us with queries or respond to our communications, the personal information you provide may include your full name, title, telephone number, email address, the content, date and time of your email or other correspondence, and information about your employer or your business.

l Our provision of legal services: If you are a client of C&S, you will provide us with personal information when you or the organization you represent becomes a client, and as necessary in the course of our providing legal services. If you are not a client, you may provide us with your personal information because you attend meetings at our offices or otherwise are involved in one of our clients’ matters.

l Recruitment applications and employment: When you apply for or accept a role with us, you may provide us with your full name, date of birth, nationality, education and qualification details, gender, resume, CV, photograph, passport details, bank account details, marital status, home address, home telephone number, mobile telephone number and other details set out in your application.

l Use of cookies and similar technologies: We collect Personal Information via cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies on our Services (collectively referred to as “cookies”). Cookies are small pieces of data that may be stored in and retrieved from your web browser while you browse a website. We share personal information among our offices as well as any office(s) we may open in the future.

l Third parties relevant to the legal services that we provide, including counter-parties to transactions or litigation, other professional service providers, regulators, authorities, governmental institutions and stock exchanges; and

l Regulatory authorities, courts, tribunals, government agencies or law enforcement agencies to the extent required by law, regulation or court order (for example, if we are under a duty to disclose your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation, or where we need to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights).

Subject to the provisions of local laws and regulations from time to time, you have, or may have, certain legal rights in relation to the personal information that we hold about you, which you can exercise (to the extent applicable) by contacting us as set out below.

As such, you may be entitled, in certain circumstances:

l To request that we correct your personal information if it is inaccurate or incomplete;

l To request that we erase your personal information;

l To lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority if you think that any of your rights have been infringed by us.

l California Privacy Rights. If you are a Consumer receiving products or services for which we are a Business, as those terms and any other capitalized terms in this section are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (California Civil Code §§ 1798.100 to 1798.199) and its implementing regulations, as amended or superseded from time to time (the “CCPA”), California law may permit you to request information regarding the:

n Categories of Personal Information (as defined by applicable California law) Collected, Sold or Disclosed by us;

n Purposes for which categories of Personal Information Collected by us are used;

n Sources of information from which we Collect Personal Information; and

n Specific pieces of Personal Information we have Collected about you.

In addition, if you are a Consumer you may:

n Opt-out of the Sale or Disclosure of your Personal Information, in some circumstances;

n Opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us; however, you may still receive administrative communications regarding the Services; and

n Request deletion of your Personal Information by us and our Service Providers, in some circumstances.

The CCPA also provides Consumers with the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by a Business for the exercise of these rights regarding Personal Information.

Please note that these rights may not be absolute. For example, if you withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information, or request that we restrict such processing, we may still be entitled to process your personal information if we have other legal grounds for doing so.  We may also be entitled to refuse certain requests for access to copies of personal information, particularly information that is subject to legal privilege, or requests to erase your personal information if we are otherwise legally entitled or required to retain it.

Security of your personal information

If you are a client of C&S, electronic communications between you and us, including via our website, may be treated as legally privileged, as attorney work product or otherwise confidentially under applicable rules of professional responsibility. Nothing in this notice is intended to affect such protections for existing clients.

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards that are intended to appropriately protect Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorized alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Personal Information in our possession. However, because no information system can be 100% secure, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
